The cohort is designed for school leaders new to HR, or seasoned leaders desiring an HR refresh. The purpose of the cohort is to learn about and discuss HR topics affecting independent, Christian schools such as:
Difficult staffing issues – how to engage in conversation and what ‘fair process’ is when working with an employee who is not on board with the school’s mission/vision, for example.
Managing short and long term medical leaves – how to protect the employee’s job while continuing to move the organization forward; rights and expectations around maternity leaves, for example.
Staff/student boundary issues – when is it professional misconduct?
Employee behaviour outside of school hours that impacts the school – when grace is extended and when discipline is necessary.
A total of five sessions will be offered this year.
